This is our second visit to Quebec's Iles-de-la-Madeleine, the islands in the Gulf of the St Lawrence ... a 5 hour ferry ride from Prince Edward Island. We were here In 2006 along with Sue and Jim Curtis. This time we have 6 full days to photograph (weather permitting).

The weather forecast was for rain and wind ... and that's what we woke up to. So we spent the morning on e-mail and getting the website ready. It stopped (well, almost stopped) raining about 11:00 am so we set out to explore.
We went to the north-west coast ... first the lighthouse near Etang du Nord and then the fishing harbour on Ile des Loupes. We found a surf driven by 35 mph winds and sullen grey skies. We had a ball!
But first ...
a couple of photographs from the ferry ride!
