Wednesday, April 9. We are back in Vancouver and leave for home Tomorrow morning. We have never been to the Sun Yat-Sen Park in Vancouver ... so that is where we are going. The weather is still cool but there is/will be some sunshine.
The first section of photographs below were taken in the Sun Yat-Sen Park, operated by the Vancouver Parks. It was busy and beautiful. In retrospect it was indeed a park ... a place to walk and enjoy the unique beauty of a Chinese Garden. We all (Dorothy, June, Tom) liked it.
Adjacent to the park is the Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Garden. You cannot walk directly from one to the other although they are only separated by a few metres of water in most places and you view one from the other. Again, in retrospect, the Garden is a combination of building and private garden for the enjoyment of the owner of the building. It too has a unique beauty and was built from materials imported from China some years ago and paid for by donations from individuals and corporations. There is an admission fee, so it is less busy, perhaps more austere. In combination they work together beautifully ... adjacent but separate, sharing but divided.

This group of photographs were taken in the Sun Yat-Sen Park. They do include views with the Sun Yat-Sen Gardens in the photograph.
This second group of photographs were taken in the Sun Yat-Sen Gardens and they feature some of the interesting architectural details ... courtyards, 'windows', interiors. And there are scenes with the park included in the photograph.
Yes, they are both separate and related.
