When we were in New Mexico in September 2007 we visited Bosque del Apache ... a Waterfowl Refuge where Snow Geese and Sandhill Cranes over-winter ... just for a look as we knew we were too early for 'The Birds'. This year we hoped to be able to make time for a visit when the birds were there.
There were over 20,000 of both Snow Geese and Sandhill Cranes! We had a great afternoon 'shoot', had too enjoyable a dinner at the Socorro Springs Brewery that night, and (surprise?) we didn't make it for the 6:30 am 'take off' the next morning.
